About the teachings

The teachings in the app are short reflections written to encourage kindness, patience and a steady mind, each closing with a line from the Dhammapada or the suttas. The reflections are original writing in the spirit of the Buddha's teaching and are not presented as his own words. The English meanings of the closing lines are plain renderings written to be easy to understand, not a published translation. The app is not a teacher and does not stand in for one. For questions about Buddhist practice, please ask a qualified teacher or your own community.

The teachings are also not medical, psychological, financial or legal advice, and they are not a substitute for help from a doctor, counselor or teacher. If you are in crisis or danger, contact your local emergency number right away.

Using the app

The app, its reflections, recordings, artwork and design belong to Amos Live, Inc. They are licensed to you for your own personal, non‑commercial use under the Standard EULA. Please don't copy, resell or redistribute them. The words of the Pali canon themselves belong to no one; this applies to our reflections, renderings, recordings and artwork.

Changes

We may update the app and these terms from time to time. When we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
